Appendix: Entity Behavior

Before the train arrives

This section describes how entities behave on Platforms. Platforms are composite objects, built from Waiting Zones, Direction Modifiers, Level Exits, Level Entrances, Drift Zones and Focal Nodes.

While waiting for a train, entities behave as they do in a Waiting Zone, dispersing evenly across the platform area. Entities may start moving again to allow other entities to past them. Also, if a Service assigned to a Platform has a Train shorter than the Platform, entities waiting for that Service automatically wait in the section of Platform the Train stops against.

When the train arrives

A few seconds before a Train arrives, entities near the platform edge step back, in anticipation of entities alighting the Train. When Train doors open, boarding entities move to either side of them, to let alighting entities off, first. A few seconds later, entities on the platform start boarding, too.

Note: In LEGION Simulator, accessible spaces for Trains are displayed next to their Platform when a Train has arrived, and are hidden when Trains depart.
